Grace for Today

There’s a story of a teacher who gave her students a clean sheet of paper every single day, no matter how messy yesterday’s had been. One day, a student asked, “Why do you keep giving us new pages even when we keep making mistakes?” The teacher smiled and said, “Because every day is a chance to start again.”

That’s a glimpse of what God offers us through His grace—a fresh start every morning.

In Lamentations, the prophet Jeremiah is lamenting the deep sorrow and brokenness of his people. The city is in ruins, hope seems lost, and yet—right in the middle of the darkness—Jeremiah declares something profound: “His mercies are new every morning.” Despite everything falling apart, God's faithfulness stood firm.

This is not just poetic encouragement—it’s truth for weary hearts. We don’t live off yesterday’s strength or mercy. God gives fresh grace for each new day. We may feel overwhelmed by our responsibilities, broken by our failures, or burdened by the unknown, but His compassion meets us where we are—not once, but again and again.
