Imagine going a whole week without eating. You’d feel weak, irritable, and unable to function properly. The same thing happens spiritually when we neglect feeding on God’s Word.
In Matthew 4, Jesus had fasted for 40 days. He was physically weak, but spiritually strong because He had been communing with the Father. When the devil tempted Him, Jesus didn’t argue—He quoted Scripture. He showed us the power of a life grounded in the Word.
As parents, leaders, and believers, we can’t model faithfulness, make wise decisions, or withstand spiritual attacks without the fuel of God’s truth. It’s not enough to snack on a verse here and there; we need a steady diet of Scripture—morning, noon, and night. Just as we plan meals for our families, we must plan spiritual meals for ourselves and our households.
